Physician. Athlete. Rhode Islander.
Kevin & LizKevin was born and raised in Rhode Island, where he was a standout high school athlete and a competitive wrestler. Wrestling taught him discipline, conditioning and how food fuels performance, and those lessons still shape how he talks with patients about health.
After graduating Phi Beta Kappa from Ohio University and earning his MD at Case Western Reserve, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, he came home for internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital and Brown University. He has practiced GI and liver medicine in Providence for more than 25 years and sees patients at University Gastroenterology, 33 Staniford Street.
Kevin is the father of two sons. His wife, Liz Cort Palumbo, also has two sons. With 4 boys in the mix, life is busy and full.
With more than 50 combined years in medicine and fitness, Kevin and Liz saw joining their expertise as a natural extension of a shared passion for helping people. Dr. Palumbo serves as Medical Director of GetFitRx, overseeing diagnosis, laboratory evaluation, and gut, liver and metabolic care.
Liz holds a BS and an MBA and is a former scholarship collegiate athlete. A fitness studio owner for 15 years, she is also a fitness competitor, women's transformation coach and business consultant. At GetFitRx she leads training, nutrition habits and coaching, so every patient receives medical expertise and personalized fitness guidance in one coordinated plan. More about Liz →
